Edith J. ''Jerry'' Gillis died unexpectedly Sunday, October 14, 2001 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. She is survived by her husband, of 53 years, Charles Gillis; stepfather, Harry Wesco; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Keith Raymond; Betty and Jim Patterson; Harriettea Gillis; Donniettea and Fred Lehman; Charlette and Mike Slack; Evelyn Gills and fiance' Alex Shellhaas; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Lee Kessler; Michael and Fiance' Mary Handy; brother, Lloyd ''Doc'' Weaver' sister. Sue Carol McDade; brothers-in-law, Clarence Ferris and Clifford Bowling; and 14 grandchildren. Mrs. Gillis was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Bowling and Delores ''Dodie'' Ferris and sister-in-law, Joyce Weaver. She was a member of Troy Moose Lodge and AMVETS Post #88. Mrs. Gillis attended Troy High School and retired in 1990 after 26 years as custodian of Troy High School.
