Earl "Nicholas" Eugene Lewis, 61, of Piqua, Ohio died on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio after an extended illness. He was born on November 3, 1944 in Dublin, Ohio to the late Clyde E. and Irene Carter Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Patricia D. Mattila Lewis; three children, daughters, Kandie Powell of Troy, Ohio; Shari Lewis of Troy, Ohio, son, Nicholas Lewis Jr. of Piqua, Ohio; two step-sons, Vernon Van DeGrift of Piqua, Ohio; Michael Van DeGrift of Troy, Ohio; brothers & sister-in-laws; Richard Allan Lewis of Troy, Ohio; Terry & Linda Lewis of Troy, Ohio; sisters & brother-in-law; Linda Lewis of Troy, Ohio; Carla Pauline & Jeff Nuckles of Troy, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three nieces and one nephew and two dogs, Sassy and Kato. He was a US Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a screen washer at Ameritrim, formerly worked at Jackson Tube in Quality Control. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 @ 1:30PM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. Burial will be in Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. Friends may call on the family, two hours prior to the service. Contributions may be made to the family, in care of Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio.
