Obituary

E. RAY HORTON, age 75, of Troy, finished his race on December 26, 2020.  He was born to Elbert Clarence Horton and Anna Mae Stephens on April 12, 1945 in Oneida, TN.

Ray was a loving and caring "Big" brother to the greatest sis and most unique person, Lois Ann (Horton) Gunter of Plant City, FL, Gary of Moscow, OH and Jack (Doris) of Williamsburg, OH.  He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brother: Jimmy (Joyce) Horton; two half-brothers: Gene and Vernon; half-sister: Margaret (Horton) Rinkhoff; sister-in-law: Bonnie; two precious nieces: Tina and Lena Gunter; great niece: Breanna Arthur; and one special aunt-in-law: Janice Stephens.

Ray was the caring nephew to seven aunts and uncles on the Horton side and five on the Stephens side.  Ray was the caring and fun-loving uncle to five nieces: Heather, Dawn, Michelle, Brenda and Rose; and nine nephews: David, Michael, Jimmy, Everett, Michael, Jeremy, Ben, Troy and Garon.  He was the one and only love, companion, provider and confidant to his wife: Lettie A. (Wood) Horton.  They were married on November 8, 1966 in Williamsburg, OH.

Graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, January 4, 2021, Bethel-Tate Cemetery in Bethel, OH.  Arrangements are being handled by Baird Funeral Home in Troy, OH.  A Memorial Service will be held at a later and safer time which will be announced.
