Duane "Dobie" Heckman, age 81, of Troy, OH passed away on September 2, 2022 at his residence. He was born on November 27, 1940 in Portage, OH to the late Bob and Annabelle (Adams) Heckman.

Duane is survived by his wife of 45 years: Helen (McFadden) Heckman; children: Amy (Bryan) Harvey of Troy, Julie (Ken) Thorpe of Marietta, GA, Joelle McGlohorn of Chapin, SC, Michael (Becky) Heckman of Troy, Mollie Brown of Englewood, and Derrick Heckman of Troy; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and siblings: Gary (Jane) Heckman of San Diego, CA and Denny (Connie) Heckman of Tipp City.

Duane was a production manager with Chrysler. He was also the owner of Dobies Jean Shops in Troy and West Milton. Duane was a member of the US Trotting Association and was a harness racing enthusiast. Duane loved fishing and watching football, especially the Cincinnati Bengals, The Ohio State University and the Dayton Flyers.

A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Baird Funeral Home, Troy.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
