Doyle K. Martin, 94, of Troy, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at the Koester Pavilion, Troy, Ohio. He was born on December 21, 1910 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Ray and Bertha York Martin. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Frances E. Good Martin, they married on June 28, 1962. Also surviving; cousin, Edgar York of Vero Beach, Florida; step-grandson; Blake A. Cruikshank Sr. and wife Tina of Casstown, OH; step great-grandson; Blake A. Cruikshank Jr. of Casstown,OH and niece, Rowena Phelps of Troy, OH. He was preceded in death by one infant brother; two sisters, Ruby Reed and LaRue Maddox; and one step-son, Robert Cruikshank. He was a US Army Veteran serving during WW II; served with the National Guard for 14 years; lifetime member of Troy VFW; Life member of Troy Eagles 60 plus year member; past president and a State Officer. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club and member of the First United Church of Christ, Troy; the Friendship Club and #128 UAW. He attended North Ridge Schools. He retired in 1976 after 36 years at Troy Sunshade; also worked at Quality Furniture Store. Services will be on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 10:30am at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio. There will be a VFW Memorial Honor Guard at the cemetery. Eagles Services will take place at 6:45PM at the funeral home on Friday evening.
