DOUGLAS EDGAR MACLIN, age 73, of Troy, passed from this life into glory on Friday, February 17, 2017.  He was born on September 7, 1943 in Springfield to the late Herman and Gene (Forquer) Maclin.  He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sheila (Green) Maclin.

Doug is also survived by daughter Diana (Dan Eyers) Maclin of Marysville, son Bill (Karen) Maclin of Springfield and several grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Stephen Maclin, and infant daughter, Lisa Maclin.

Doug was a member of the First Baptist Church in Troy, where he sang with the choir and the men's ensemble and played violin as a soloist and with the church orchestra.  Doug loved music and played multiple instruments.  He played violin with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra and his mother's chamber orchestra. He also played fiddle and banjo with a bluegrass band.

Doug graduated from Springfield North High School in 1961. He attended Wittenberg University and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Army. He received two engineering technology degrees from Clark Technical College and was employed by Navistar/PMI for 20 years before retiring. His hobbies included gardening, camping, and fishing.

The funeral will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at First Baptist Church 53 S. Norwich Road, Troy, OH.  Burial will follow in Casstown Cemetery in Casstown.  Friends may call from 11:00AM – 1:00PM on Tuesday at the church.
