Dorothy M. Stone, age 75, of Troy, OH, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, became an angel in Heaven on Friday August 10, 2018. She was born on April 22, 1943 in Troy, Ohio to the late Roy E. and Mary Lucille (Burns) Brown. Dorothy was married to her husband of 47 years, William Clinton "Bill" Stone and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2010.
Dorothy is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Doug and Rhonda Stone of Troy, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law: Mary and Jeffrey Baker of Pleasant Hill, Ohio and Melanie and Jerry Hicks of Vandalia, Ohio; eight grandchildren: Kirk and Heather Phelps, Alyssa Stone, Josh Shetterly, Ashley Frey, Sarah Phelps, Aaron Stone, Jenna Stone and Anna Baker; 2 great granddaughters: McKinlee and Zoey Phelps; brother and sister-in-law: Larry and Roxie Brown of Columbus, Ohio; sisters and brother-in-law: Phyllis and Ken Crawford of Tipp City, Ohio, Carol Pruett of Bedford, Indiana and Shirley Smith of Deland, Florida; Beloved dog Silver Belles.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by nephew: Ed Brown; sisters-in-law: Gloria Brown and Beverly Tilton; brothers- in-law Ives Pruett and Gene Smith.
Dorothy was a 1961 graduate of Troy High School. Dorothy and her husband Bill enjoyed dancing and were former members of the Stetson Traveling Squares Dance Club, Troy. She was formerly employed with Uhlman's Department Store and Troy Bowl.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday August 15, 2018 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with Rev. Todd Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 4-8PM on Tuesday August 14, 2018 at the funeral home.
