Dorothy Mae Guinther
Dorothy Mae Guinther, age 85, of Tipp City, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Grace Brethren Village, Englewood, Ohio. She was born on December 25, 1927 in Troy, Ohio to the late Orville E. and Lucille M. (Toomey) Reed. She was married to Paul L. Guinther and he preceded her in death in 1987.
Dorothy is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick Lee and Debby Guinther of Marysville, Ohio and Dennis Linn and Claudia Guinther of London, Ohio; daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine Sue and Richard Long of Troy, Ohio, Paula Kay and Michael Eidemiller of Tipp City, Ohio, Ellen Marie Dixon of Brentwood, California and Jane Ann and Harry Moresi of Dayton, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Guinther was preceded in death by one son, Paul Guinther, her sister, Delores Widener and her brother, Orville "Bud" Reed, Jr.
She was a 1945 graduate of Troy High School and a member of First Lutheran Church, Troy, where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of Grandmothers Club, Troy, VFW Auxiliary No. 5436 and Ladies Auxiliary No. 5436. She loved to bowl, cook and bake.
Dorothy worked for Air Lacarte in Vandalia, Ohio; Dettmer Hospital, Troy, Ohio and SpringMeade, Tipp City where she cooked and worked at special events until her retirement.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Baird Funeral Home , Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Ric Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in the Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM – 1:00PM at the funeral home on Monday.
