Dorothy A. Gentle, age 82, of Troy, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at her residence.  She was born on October 10, 1941, in Greenville, to the late Cletus and Mary (Snyder) Rehmert.

Dorothy is survived by siblings: Virgie Edwards, Naomi (Bill) May, Nancy Riewerts, Marvin (Charlotte) Rehmert, and David (Kathy) Rehmert; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Gentle; four brothers: Ralph, Carl, Donald Rehmert and an infant brother; two sisters: Margaret Quick and Arlene DuVall.

Dorothy worked at both Sears and A.O. Smith as an administrative assistant.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Troy.  She was an avid volunteer at the First Place Food Pantry in Troy and a member of the Troy Elks BPOE 833.

Services will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Baird Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Heckaman officiating.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
