Dorothy I. Furnas, 84, of Troy, Ohio died on Sunday, July 3, 2005 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, in the ER. She was born on February 26, 1921 in Miami County, Ohio to the late Charles and Lillie Bair Helmer. She married George M. Furnas, and he survives. They were married for 47 years. Also surviving are their daughter and son-in-law; Julie and Mike Weyant; her sister, Reva Eichhorn; grandchildren, Christopher, Brandon and Alyssa Weyant. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Ralph and Edward Helmer and sister, Imogene Swisher. She was a graduate of Staunton Schools. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Troy, where she was an active member and treasurer of Class 13. She retired from Hobart Brothers Company in Troy after 44 years of service. She was a member of the Hobart Milestone Club. Dorothy's main interest in life was her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing for her family. Funeral services will be on Friday, July 8, 2005 @ 10:00AM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. Friends may call on the family, Thursday, July 7, 2005 from 5-8PM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio.
