DORIS J. McCOPPIN

DORIS J. McCOPPIN, age 87, of Warrensburg, MO, formerly of Troy, OH, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, MO.  She was born in Jackson, MS on March 19, 1927 to the late Roy M. and Lillie (Chapman) Stevenson.  Doris married to Emery "Mac" McCoppin on 1946 in Jackson, MS.  He survives in the home.

In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by one son: Steve McCoppin of Bowling Green, OH; one daughter and son-in-law: Sherrie and Cameron Beck of Warrensburg, MO; three sisters: Catherine Stevenson, Corine Harberson and Carolyn (Edward) Hastings, all of MS; and two granddaughters: Amanda Avent and Kathryn Avent of Warrensburg, MO.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Doris was a 65 year member of First Baptist Church in Troy, OH.  She was also a member of the Troy Eastern Star.  Doris was employed as a sales associate at JC Penney's in Troy and the Piqua Mall for 20 years.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy, OH with Pastor Douglas E. Peters officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy, OH.  Friends may call from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
