Doris A. Knoop, 97, formerly of Casstown, OH, and more recently of Brookdale Senior Living of Troy passed away on May 1, 2024 at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County. She was born on September 19, 1926 in Miami County, OH to the late Howard and Leatha (Isenbarger) Sotherland.

Doris is survived by her daughter: Sharon (Montie) Clawson of Tipp City; four grandchildren: Eric Clawson of The Woodlands, TX, Lisa (Robert) Kelly of Dublin, OH, Beth (Jamie) Casper of Wilmington, NC, and Jeff (Mandy) Long of Oxford, OH; and nine great grandchildren: Brady and Andrew Clawson, Emma, Sarah and John Kelly, Kendall and Morgan Casper and Ainsley and Makaylin Long. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband: John R. Knoop; daughter and son-in-law: Karen (Gene) Long; one brother: Murlin Sotherland; and sisters: Carryl Snyder, Patricia Smith and Margaret Hill.

Doris was a graduate of Lostcreek Schools. She retired from Miami East Schools as a cook after 22 years of service. Doris was a member of Casstown United Methodist Church and was a 70 year member of the Order of Eastern Star #256 of Troy and charter member of Casstown Fire Department Auxiliary.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 6, 2024 at Baird Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Casstown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00  PM on Monday at the funeral home.
