Doris Elizabeth DeJong, 86, of Jackson, Ohio and formerly if Keokuk, Iowa died on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at the Holzer-Wyngate in Jackson, Ohio. She was born on May 2, 1919 in Keokuk, Iowa to the late George E. and Florence Usher DeJong. She is survived by two children, daughter & son-in-law; Barbara &Mike Culp of Minford, Ohio; son & daughter-in-law; Jeff & Sue Wells of Gastonia, North Carolina; nieces, Anne Marie & Gerry Crawford of Oklahoma; three grandchildren, David Wells of Troy, OH; Becky & Jason Koverman of Auburn IN and Dean Wells of Fr. Walton Beach, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Edward DeJong. She was a member of the Findley Art League; worked for the weather Bureau in Kansas City; enjoyed painting and hand made pottery; liked playing bridge; was an avid reader, especially about the Indians. She was a graduate of Grinnell College, Iowa City, Iowa. She retired as a Jr. High Arts & English Teacher in Toledo and Findley. Services will be held on May 1st @ 1:00PM in Jackson, Ohio.
