Donald E. Vandeveer, age 91, passed away on February 2, 2022.  He was born at his house on Wheeler Street in Troy, Ohio to the late Albert and Ruth (Circle) Vandeveer on April 13, 1930.  He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 66 years, Karolyn and his children Anne (Bill) Ames, Julie Vandeveer, Donald (Barbara) Vandeveer and David (Sarah) Vandeveer.  He is survived by his grandchildren Josh Ames, Matt (Jessica) Ames, Jeremy (Lindsay) Thompson, Jenny (Josh) Clay, Dan Vandeveer, Emily Vandeveer, Caitlin Vandeveer and Kyle Vandeveer.  He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Jerry Vandeveer.

Don graduated from Troy High School in 1948 and the University of Cincinnati in 1953 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He served in the Air Force as an officer.  He worked Hobart Manufacturing then went to Process Equipment Company where he worked for 30 years.

Don was a devoted father who loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, boating and mushroom hunting with his family and friends.  He was a great role model for his children.  He was a Boy Scout Troop Master and prolific stamp collector.  Later in life he enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and his happy place in Naples, Florida.  Don was a deeply spiritual, soft spoken, kind, caring man of great faith and integrity.  He always had a smile on his face.

Visitation will be held at the First United Church of Christ, 120 S. Market Street, Troy, Ohio on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 11:00AM until the time of service at 1:00pm.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
