Donald Edward Groves, age 80, of Troy, passed away on December 2, 2021 at Koester Pavilion.  He was born on December 14, 1940 in Detroit, MI to the late Delmar Groves and Ruth (Baker) Groves Snyder.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Juanita (Fairchild) Groves; children: Yvonne (Bernard) Griffiths of Liberty Township, OH and Monica (William) Martin of Galloway, OH; siblings: Suzana Morrison of Todas Santos, Mexico; Kenneth Groves of Ridgely, Maryland; and Dennis Groves of Piqua and grandchildren: Kayla Martin and Olivia Martin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Douglas Groves.

Donald was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Troy.  He was a 1958 graduate of Piqua Central High School.  He worked in the tool and diecast industry. He was a private flight instructor and a 4 year veteran of the US Navy.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Baird Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Heckaman officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12-2PM.  Interment will take place at Honey Creek Cemetery, Christiansburg.
