Donald W. Gilbert, age 55, of Troy, OH. Died Friday, May 2, 2003 at the Dayton Veterans Medical Center. He was the son Hugh Dale and Charlotte Lucille kiesling Gilbert who preced him in death. Survivors include his special friend and companion Joyce Theting of Troy, OH, brother, Jack L. Gilbert of Venice, FL, an uncle, Dr. Eugene Petry of Hudson, OH and an aunt, Donna Rowland of Willoughby, OH. Donald was a veteran of Vietnam serving as a medic in the US Air Force, Troy Fish and Game Club; American Legion; AmVets Post #88; member and Past Commander of VFW Post #5436. He served as a hunter's education instructor and was a member of the League of Ohio Sportsmen; NRA and the Vandalia Trap Shooting Association. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
