Donald E. Gheen Donald E. Gheen, age 86, of Troy, Ohio died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at 4:10AM in Troy Care and Rehabilitation Center, Troy, Ohio. He was born March 16, 1925 in New Carlisle, Ohio to the late Carl T. and Martha Olive McNeal Gheen. Survivors include his wife of 57 years of marriage, Rosemary Brown Gheen; two sons and daughter-in-law, Stan G. Gheen of Troy, Ohio and Steven D. and Nichole Gheen of Greenbrier, Tennessee; two sisters, and brother-in-law, Martha Fry of Troy, Ohio and Barbara and Arthur Root of Franklin, Ohio, three grandchildren, Mykala, Trenton and HanaJo Gheen all of Greenbrier, Tennessee also numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by brothers, Arthur and Rodger Gheen and sisters, Zelma Flagle and Ruby Gladman. Donald was a graduate of Elizabeth Twp. High School 43' and was Valedictorian of his class. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWll in the Pacific Theater. He was an avid sports fan playing basketball and baseball for many years. Donald and his father farmed together, and he retired from A.O. Smith Corp, Tipp City, Ohio after 26 years of service with perfect attendance in which he was recognized by the company. Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with Pastor Evan Garber officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. VFW Memorial Honor Guard will provide military honors at graveside.
