Don L. Rowe, age 81, of Troy, Ohio died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the Troy Care and Rehabilitation Center, Troy, Ohio. He was born March 5, 1930 in Dartmoor, West Virginia of the late Gerald Paul Rowe and Anna Wilson Rowe. He was married to Shelby Pingley Rowe, his wife of 56 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Cindy Rowe and Mike and Carie Rowe all of Troy; two brothers and sister-in-law, Burl Rowe of Tipp City and Joe and Jean Rowe of Troy; five grandsons, Nathan, Zane, and Zach Rowe all of Troy; Tyler Rowe serving in the US Navy at Kings Bay, Georgia and Kyle Rowe serving in the US Marines in Afghanistan. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his son, Gregory W. Rowe on October 18, 2006; brother, Paul Rowe; and sister-in-law, Linda Rowe. Don was a graduate of Belington High School in Belington, West Virginia and attended trade school in Grafton, West Virginia. Following graduation from trade school he began his career with BF Goodrich Company in Troy. He was then employed with Process Equipment Company in Tipp City for 22 years prior to starting his own business, Lostcreek Tool and Machine Company, retiring in 1995. Don was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Troy VFW and the Ludlow Falls Baptist Church. He was a great sportsman in which he loved hunting, fishing, and camping and was a wonderful family man. Services will be held 2:00PM Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with the Pastors Dale Scott and Monty Stratton officiating. Interment will be held in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio with the VFW Memorial Honor Guard services. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM-2:00PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
