Dixie May Francis Dixie May Francis, age 67, of Troy, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at 12:20PM on Monday, October 12, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton after an illness of 22 months. She was born on May 14, 1942 in Arcanum, Ohio to the late Earl and Velma Slade Cheadle. Her husband of 47 years and eight months, Glen E. Francis, survives. Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Ronnie and Beth Francis and Kim and Renee Francis all of Troy; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Linda Demoret and Kay and Oliver Miller all of Troy; and two grandchildren: Jessica Anderson and Mitchell Francis. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dixie was preceded in death by two brothers: William and Lowell Cheadle and a brother-in-law, Paul Demoret. She was a 1961 graduate of Troy High School and a member of the Troy Eagles. She retired in 2001 after 28 years of service as an International Customer Service Representative for Hobart Corp. Dixie was a loving wife, mother and the best grandmother ever—always putting others needs before herself. She loved spring and summer, planting flowers and gardening. A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, October 16, 2009 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Pastor Frank Workman officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
