Dick K. Ovenshire Dick K. Ovenshire, age 81, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 2:10AM Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Masonic Home in Springfield, Ohio. He was born on May 10, 1926, in Battlecreek, MI, to the late Orval K. and Josephine Boak Ovenshire. He was married to Wanda Littlejohn Ovenshire from 1950 to 2001 when she passed away. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Michael and Debbie Ovenshire of Covington, Ohio and David and Jane Ovenshire of Xenia, Ohio; sister, Jackie Dierks of Mason, Ohio; three grandchildren: Annie Ed Klene, Holly Justin Olivieri and Jeremy Ovenshire; and three great-grandchildren: Mary, Vincent and Izabel. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Corey. Dick was a member of the Troy High School graduating class of 1944 and was a lifelong resident of Troy, Ohio. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Troy. He was also a US Navy WWII Veteran, serving from 1944 to 1946. Dick was the Past Master of the Franklin Lodge #14, Troy; a member of the Troy Moose Lodge, Troy Fish & Game Club, American Legion Post #43 and Troy Senior Citizens. He worked for Western Auto before moving to Trans World Airlines and continued working for City Transfer where he retired in 1984. Services will be held at 7:00PM Monday, May 12, 2008, at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with the Rev. Al Bastin officiating. Masonic Service will be held at 6:45PM on Monday at the funeral home. VFW Memorial Honor Guard Services to be held following the service on Monday at the funeral home. Friends may call from 4 until the time of service on Monday. Interment will take place in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor's favorite charity in Dick's name.
