Denver A. McAllister, age 95, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at StoryPoint of Troy.  He was born on July 30, 1930, in Beechy, KY, to the late Clyde Allen and Edith Gertrude (Honaker) McCallister.

Denver is survived by two daughters: Lesia J. "Jeanie" (Robert) Cole and Debra Ann (Charlie) Hampton, both of Troy; three granddaughters: Joanna Hampton, Jennifer Hampton and Rebecca Cole; one great granddaughter: Lilith Henderickson; and many cherished nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Bettie J. McAllister; and siblings: Richard Basil McCallister, Paul William McCallister, Evelyn Boyles, Fredia Lyons, Betty Eddleman, Lillian Truglio, Fayetta Royse and Cline Noel McCallister.

Denver proudly served his country for 21 years as a US Army Combat Engineer before retiring on September 1, 1969. Serving 9 years in Germany, as a drill instructor at Fort Knox, and in Vietnam as Sergeant First Class McAllister.

He was a devout follower of the Lord. A member of Mid County Church of Christ, Troy, where he helped run the Thursday School preschool. Affectionately known as grandpa Denver by many, he loved children and running into former students around town.

Denver was a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge and numerous NCO clubs. After retiring from the military, he retired from Aerovent Fan Company. Following his second retirement he enjoyed working with family at the Stouder Center. Denver enjoyed gardening and long walks, was a talented woodworker, and never missed calling on birthdays or when you were sick. He will be missed by many and held dearly in our hearts.

Graveside will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Miami Memorial Park in Covington with Pastor Ralph Royce officiating.  Full military honors will be presented by the US Army and the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on September 27, 2025 at the Mid County Church of Christ with visitation from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM.
