Glover
August 7, 1950 – January 16, 2021
DENNIS JOHN GLOVER, age 70, of Troy, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. He was born on August 7, 1950 in Dubuque, IA to the late Edmund Joseph and Marian Louise (Schumacher) Glover.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 47 years: Sheryl L. (Roegner) Glover of Troy; daughter: Stephanie (Evan) Anderson of Troy; son: Kevin (Carrie) Glover of Troy; siblings: Terry (Leah) Glover of Red Wing, MN, Tim (Peggy) Glover of Fredericksburg, VA, Ted (Marie) Glover of LaCrosse, WI, Jackie (Mike) Mulgrew of Dubuque, IA, twin brother: Dave (Bev) Glover of Red Wing, MN, and Joyce Panto of Dubuque, IA; grandchildren: Victoria and PJ Glover and Eleanor Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dennis proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy during the Vietnam War and then served in the Navy Reserves. He was a retired welder. Dennis was a hard worker, but his passion was loving people. He was a man of faith, who enjoyed spending time at church and reading his Bible. Most important of all to Dennis was spending time with his family. He joyfully embraced being a grandfather. He loved to spend weekends bike riding with his grandson and adored being with his granddaughters. Dennis was an avid reader and lover of nature. He enjoyed hiking, mushroom hunting and was always on the lookout hoping to catch a glimpse of a deer (especially if it was 6:30 in the evening.) He cherished fishing, playing cards and doing puzzles with his wife. Dennis always took pride in donating blood. One of his favorite memories was going on the Dayton Honor Flight.
Dennis was a favorite among his relatives because of his playful nature and genuine way of engaging others. He had a unique sense of humor and delighted in making the people around him laugh. Dennis will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved his jovial spirit, encouraging nature and deeply caring heart.
