DELBERT E. "SMOKEY" DAVIS, age 91, of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at his residence.  He was born on March 28, 1926 in Milton, WV to the late Millford and Maggie Davis

Delbert is survived by four children: Joseph T. Davis of Troy, OH, David Davis of Orlando, FL, Regina Connor and Caty Davis, both of Deltona, FL; two sisters: Helen Carpenter of Huntington, WV and Hazel Foster of NC; four grandchildren: Amber Davis of Brookville, OH, Alisha Davis of Piqua, OH, Ashley (Douglass) Aytes of Phillipsburg, OH and Michael Davis of Troy, OH; and six great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter: Karen Dixon; and six siblings: Richard Davis, Lloyd Davis, Denvil Davis, Emzy Davis, Pauline Brunner and Emily Good.

Delbert proudly served his country as a member of the US Air Crops during WW II.  He was a life long member of Troy Fish and Game.  Delbert retired from L. C. P., Troy, after 37 years of service.  He loved playing cards and was a beekeeper.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Friends may call from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Military honors will be presented by Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy at the funeral home.
