Dr. Dean Allen Landes, 61, of Troy died Thursday Dec. 6, 2001 at Upper Valley Medical Center - ER in Troy. He was born Oct. 13, 1940 in Clayton to Myrtle Denlinger of Modesto, California and the late Ralph W. Landes. Dr. Landes is survived by his wife Patricia Boone Landes; a son and daughter-in-law Rodney Dean and Carrie Landes of Modesto California; a daughter and son-in-law Danita Ilene and Pete Bussey of Greenville; 5 grandchildren, Wyatt and Preston Landes, Britton, Clayton and Kate Bussey; a sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Herbert Bauman of Modesto. He was a Board member of the Miami Co. abuse Shelter; Past President of Miami Co. Medical Society; Medical Director at West Central Juvenile Center and David L. Brown, Medical Staff of Upper Valley Medical Center; Past board member of Dettmer Hospital. He graduated from Modesto High School in Modesto; received a BS in plant pathology and Masters in Entomology from the University of California - Davis; Doctor of Medicine at University of California - Irvine; Served his residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton; Board Certified OB/GYN. Dr. Landes retired in 1998 from his practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Troy. Services will be Tuesday Dec. 11, 2001 at the Covington District Old German Baptist Brethren Church with Elder Glen Landes, Elder Ron Bowman and Wes Bauman officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery at Palestine Old German Baptist Brethren Church. Friends may call Monday Dec. 10, 2001 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
