David D. Heater, age 81, of Troy died Friday, March 2, 2007 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born July 13, 1925 in Troy to the late George Townley Heater and Florence Spraul Heater. He was married to Nora M. Carter who preceded in death in 2001. He is survived by his daughter Gloria Jean Davis of Troy; brother George of Savannah, GA and sister Margaret Heater Crawford of Bennington, VT; two grandchildren, Teresa Sam Helmick of Troy and Thomas Davis of Troy; five great grandchildren, David and Derek of Covington and Dirke, Danah and Gordie of Troy. Preceded in death his parents, wife and brother Charles. He was a 1942 graduate of Troy High School and a WWII US Army Air Corp Veteran having served as a gunner, radio man and photographer in the service. He was retired from Hobart Corp after 37 years of service and was a member of the Hobart Quarter Century Club. Services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, March 7th at Baird Funeral Home. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, with veteran honor guard services at the grave side. Friends may call 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, at the Baird Funeral Home.
