David Benson Carter, age 87, of Delaware, OH; formerly of Troy, OH passed away on June 13, 2023 at his residence. He was born on October 24, 1935 in LaRue, OH to the late Harry Edgebert and Mina Blanche (Benson) Carter.

Dave is survived by his wife of 67 years of marriage: Dorothy Rochelle (Clark) Carter; daughters: Cheryl Ann Carter of Columbus, Tamara Carter Shipman of Galena, Teresa Sue Wiltshire of Piqua; son: David Andrew Carter of Westerville; sisters: Mary Ann Paszek of Onancok, VA and Nancy Jean Watson of Columbus; brother: Phillip Lee Carter of Lansing, MI; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Harry Thomas Carter; and by his granddaughter: Eleanor Catherine Carter.

Dave was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Troy and more recently with New Beginnings Church in Delaware.  He was also a member of the Troy Sertoma Club.  He owned and operated Carter Electric in Troy until his retirement.  He was an avid sports fan, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds.

The service celebration and remembrance will be held on Saturday, June 17, at 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 110 West Franklin Street, Troy with his son, Rev. David Carter officiating.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at the church prior to the service.
