Darlyn Dawn Stradling, age 84, of Troy, OH passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the Upper Valley Medical Center.  She was born on September 5, 1937 in Holgate, OH to the late Howard A. and Beulah (Shafer) Knapp.

Darlyn is survived by her children: Danette (Ken) Sharp of San Antonio, TX; Debra (Kurt) Weikert of Troy; David (Tina) Stradling of Troy; Doyle (Tara) Stradling of Troy; sister: Diann Roth of Wauseon; sisters-in-law: Doris Stradling and Diane (Mel) Perdue, both of St. Paris ; grandchildren: Nick (Leah) Weikert; Amanda (Marco) Anverse; Blake (Shelby) Stradling; Brooke (Luke) Turner; Brandon Stradling; Alyssa Stradling; Connor Stradling; Dana Stradling; step grandchildren: Connor Lewis and Alec Lewis; great grandchildren: Axelle Anverse, Harrison Weikert, Baby Stradling due in June and Baby Turner due in August; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Dana Stradling,  her brother Dick Knapp, sister Susy Figy, brothers-in-laws: Benny Figy and Lowell Roth and sister-in-law Pauline Knapp.

Darlyn received an Associate Degree in business from Edison State Community College.  She was employed as a secretary with Friendly Ice Cream Corporation for 25 years and then later served as church secretary at St. John's United Church of Christ, Main Source Bank and Honda Powersports of Troy.

She was an active member of the First United Church of Christ in Troy where she oversaw the Backpack program. Darlyn was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday February 6, 2022 at the Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Pastor Lauren Allen officiating.  A private interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Troy at a later date.  The family will greet friends on Sunday February 6, 2022 from 1-3PM at the funeral home.
