Daphne R. Downing was born in London, England, the daughter of the late Thomas and Eliza Robinson.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Downing in 1974.  She is survived by three sons Jay Downing, Rex Downing and Tab Downing; one daughter, Jan Downing; 3 sisters, 1 brother, 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Private services were held August 12, 2000 with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio.
