Obituary

Daniel E. Wray, Jr. 78, of Troy, OH, died Friday, July 27, 2001 in Dayton VA Medical Center Hospice Unit. He was born February 21, 1923 in Steubenville, OH the son of the late Daniel E. and Lydia Sims Wray, Sr. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Troy, OH, United States Marine Veteran of WWII serving in Guadalcanal, member of the Marine Corps League, Lifetime member of the VFW, Troy, OH awarded for selfless service to humanity the ''Chapel of Four Chaplains'', Franklin Lodge 14 F&AM, Antioch Shrine, Miami County Shrine and Charter member of Tipp City Lion Club. He was a 1941 graduate of Springfield High School. He retired in 1988 from Hobart Corp. as manager of the Fleet Department previously worked for Miller Meteor as a sales rep., general manager for White Allen Chevy in Dayton, OH. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary K. Schnell Wray; two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel E. Wray III and Brenda of Denver, CO, Chuck and Debbie Wray of Tipp City, OH, two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and John Liebersbach of Gahanna, OH, Mary Beth and Woody Whilden of Littleton CO; sisters, Mary Wagner and Esther Ridgely, both of Springfield, OH; 8 Grandchildren, Dan Wray IV, Erin Wray, Katherine Liebersbach, Sarah Liebersbach, Matthew Whilden, Eric Whilden, Alexa Wray and Megan Wray. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Howard and Kenny and a sister, Ruth. Masonic Services will be held at 7:30PM with Military Honors at graveside. Contributions can be made to Shriners Children's Burn Hospital of Dayton VA Hospice Unit.
