Daniel R. Schulze 58, of Troy Ohio died at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton Saturday January 24, 2009 from complications of Diabetes. He was born October 10, 1950 in Sidney, Ohio to Urban and Thelma Seger Schulze. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Louise Goubeaux Schulze; mother Thelma Schulze of Russia, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Laura Schulze of Troy; daughter Michelle Schulze of Troy; mother-in-law Virginia Goubeaux of Versailles; brothers and sisters-in-law Rick and Cindy Schulze of Russia, Ohio, Ron and Vick Schulze of Fort Loramie, Ohio, Bob and Maria Schulze of Anna, Ohio, Mark and Jill Schulze of Anna, Ohio, Greg and Becky Schulze of Versailles, Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-law Ann and Don Hulsmeyer of Botkins, Ohio, Sue and Mark Hoying of Fort Loramie, Ohio, Patti Monnin of Lebanon, Ohio and Laura Evers of Russia, Ohio; sisters-in-law Linda Goubeaux and Diane Goubeaux both of Columbus, Ohio, Jean and Alan Poeppelman of Ft. Collins, CO; brother-in-law Bob and Doris Goubeaux of Versailles. He was preceded in death by his father, his father-in-law Ambrose Goubeaux, and his brother-in-law Daniel Goubeaux. He was a 1968 graduate of Russia High School and a 1977 graduate of Wright State University with a B.S. in Business Administration. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy and Knights of Columbus. He was a long time umpire of baseball and softball with memberships in the Greater Dayton Umpires Association, Miami County Umpires Association, and West Central Ohio Umpires Association while holding offices in each including umpire-in-chief. He officiated football, belonging to the Miami Valley Official's Association while holding various offices including President. He held accounting positions at Philips Industries, Miami County Board of MR/DD, Hospice of Darke County and Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. He was an independent insurance agent for fifteen years selling Life, Accident and Health insurance with his wife. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday January 29, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy with the Reverend Father James Duell officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Troy. Friends may call on the family Wednesday January 28, 2009 from 2:00 – 8:00PM at Baird Funeral Home in Troy, Ohio where the Knights of Columbus will lead the rosary service immediately following the visitation.
