Daniel Edward Langston, 65, of Troy, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 13, 2024 after a battle with cancer. He was born on April 20, 1959 in Troy, Ohio to the late Lester and Lois (Wagner) Langston. He married his loving wife Mickey (Forrest) Langston of Piqua on October 16, 1982 and she survives. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Katherine (Kate) and Kevin Davey of Troy, OH; son and daughter-in-law Jacob (Jake) and Elizabeth (Libby) Langston of Troy, OH; five grandchildren: Abigail Davey, Samuel Davey, Reid Langston, Luke Langston and Betsy Langston of Troy, OH. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Sheryl and Mike Ditmer and brother Tim Langston, as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Daniel graduated from Piqua High School (Class of 1977). Following graduation, he served in the Air Force and the Air National Guard. He graduated from Edison Community College with an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering. He enjoyed a fulfilling career at Hobart Food Equipment in Troy for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2022. Daniel was a follower of Jesus Christ and was a member of Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church while also attending services at Christian Life Center. He loved to spend time with his friends and family. In his free time, Daniel played guitar in a local band named FOGG, and also enjoyed golfing and fishing. He loved The Beatles, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and he attended the Indianapolis 500 annually for 48 years with his best friend Randy Fries.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 10:00AM at the First United Methodist Church, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Dr. Chris Heckaman officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Baird Funeral Home, Troy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
