Daniel "Dan" Hudson, age 82, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born on November 7, 1939, in Wellston, OH, to the late Daniel Hudson and Helen (Johnson) Myers.

Dan is survived by his wife of 59 years: Shirley (Bartlett) Hudson; three children: Deborah (Steve) Smith of FL, Stephanie (Greg) Avey of Tipp City and Stacy (Dennis) Kirk of Christiansburg,; three sisters: Diane Bowling of Wellston, Jeannie (Rich) Corvin of Gallipolis and Sylvia Swaney of Wellston; eight grandchildren: Sara (Luke) Williams, Matthew (Beth) Hudson, Dustin (Ally) Perkins, Nick (Crista) Kirk, Heather Kirk, Logan (Bri) Perkins, Brandon Kirk and Mason (Anna) Perkins; and ten great grandchildren: Colin, Caylee, Alexa, MacKenzie, Payton, Savana, Devin, Easton, Gracie and Hudson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Lynn Murray; and one brother: Bobby Myers.

Dan proudly served his country as a member of the US Army.  He retired from the City of Troy Waste Water Treatment Plant in 1994.  Dan ran chains for Troy High School football for 42 years.  He also took care of the baseball fields at Knoop Park.  Dan's greatest enjoyment was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Pastor Richie Corvin officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
