Obituary

D. Deane Loar Mr. Loar left the land of the living Friday, January 15, 2010. His family consists of his wife of 58 years 3 months and 22 days, Geraldine Louise Wiemer Loar. He also leaves two daughters and their husbands, Tammy Dene and Ken Grilliot and Kelly Ann and David Wackler. He was fortunate to have four grandchildren, Nathan and Kristen Grilliot and Tyler and Erin Wackler. His mother and father are both deceased, George Edward and Cloe Ashenfelter Loar. He is survived by a sister, Georgia Purdy of Lima and brother, Darrel Loar of Columbus and many nieces and nephews. Deane was involved in the Prayer Ministry at the First United Methodist Church, Troy, and was a member. At one time, he was involved in the Miami County Big Brother Program. He played grocery store when he was a child and never left the business. He was associated with Pangles Master Markets for 30 years and with Rays Markets for close to eight years. There will not be a normal funeral, but he is to be buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Paulding County, Ohio. There he will be laid to rest with many of his family members. He also leaves a beloved dog, a Jack Russell Terrier named Miss Feisty. A memorial service celebrating his life is planned for 2:00PM Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, 110 W. Franklin Street, Troy. Memorial contributions may be made to Bradley's House of Hope or the Donor's Choice of Charity. Friends may express condolences to the family through www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
