Cynthia "Cindy" Elizabeth Gobble Back, age 65, of Troy, Ohio went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on September 24, 1959 to the late Lt Col Robert and Janet (VanPatton) Gobble.

Cindy is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years Travis Back, her daughter Kristie (Shane) McKiddy of Dupont, Washington; her son Ryan (Kristyn) Back of Cincinnati, Ohio; her sisters, Judy (Mark) Wilson of Lake Zurich, Illinois and Mickey Scherer of Columbus, Ohio; step-mother Judy Gobble of Beavercreek, Ohio; and her cherished grandchildren, Jack and Aubrey McKiddy, and Nova and Reznor Back, as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

Cindy grew up in a military family, and had the opportunity to live in a variety of locations during her childhood.  Her family settled in Beavercreek, Ohio where she spent most of her youth.   She is a graduate of Beavercreek High School class of 1977.  Cindy earned her Bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University.  She was a devoted mother, raising her two children while always finding time to do more. She worked as an auditor for many years, and found joy in entrepreneurial pursuits: baking cakes, soap-making, and DIY crafting which she built small businesses around.  Cindy also dedicated herself to serving her community, particularly through her work with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), where she advocated for children in need. Her unwavering faith as a Christian guided her actions and inspired those around her.  Cindy's true passion was spending time with her family; taking on her most prized role as "Mimi" to her grandchildren.  During Cindy's battle with breast cancer, she became an advocate in educating women on the importance of knowing their own breast density and the possible need for additional screening.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM on November 2, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Dr. Chris Heckaman officiating.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.  The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Baird Funeral Home, Troy.  Donations may be made to CASA/GAL of Miami County, 405 Public Square, Suite 366, Troy, Ohio 45373 in her memory.
