Clifford Bowling Clifford Bowling, age 85, of Troy, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Koester Pavilion, Troy. He was born on September 14, 1925 in Greenup County, Kentucky, to the late Garrett and Hazel Colly Bowling. He married Betty Weaver Bowling in 1951 and she preceded him in death in 2000. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Bowling was preceded in death by two sisters: Gladys Johnson and Theola Meyers; two brothers: Willard and Clint Bowling; and one grandson, Curtis Clifford Bowling. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Clifford W. and Cheryl Bowling of Troy; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Shannon Kerns of St. Paris, Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-law: Marie Archey of Troy, Herma and Earl Gibbons of Bellbrook, Ohio and Eunice and John Lewis of Kentucky; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ed Bowling, Arvil and Betty Bowling and Ken and Wilma Bowling all of Kentucky; grandchildren: Chris and Elizabeth Bowling, Chasity and Troy Norton and Spencer, Preston, Travis, Kody, Christian and DJ Kerns; and great-grandchildren: Heather, Damon, Maddox, Spencer, Lexi, Preston and Kamari. He was a part of the Flea Marketers Exhibiters and Depression Glass and was a lifelong resident of Troy. He was a loving grandfather and enjoyed people. Mr. Bowling was the head custodian for Troy City Schools for five years. He was also a machine operator for Tube Products for 21 years before his retirement. A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with interment to follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio. Pastor Larry Messick will officiate. Friends may call from 1-4:00PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Miami Valley Chapter, 3797 Summit Glen Drive G100, Dayton, Ohio 45449 or SIDS Research.
