Clayton H. Friend died Friday May 14,2004 at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Statesboro, GA. He was born August 17,1910 in Pittsfield, Ohio. He and his wife Marian moved to Troy in 1932 where they lived until 1962. The Friends lived in Waukegan Illinois from 1962 until Clayton's retirement in 1972 at which time they moved back to Troy. They then lived in Troy until they moved to Stateboro,Georgia in 2002. Clayton worked at Aeroproducts Division of Allison Aircraft for 20 years. He was the treasurer of the Troy Boat Club and helped build the clubhouse that stands at the bottom of the levey next to the shelter on the Miami River. Clayton is survived by his wife of 72 years, his son and daughter in law, 8 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
