Claude Begin, 75, of Phillipsburg, OH passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit, Troy. He was born August 5, 1942 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to the late Leopold and Gertrude (Roy) Begin. Claude is survived by his bride of 49 years, Gloria (Smith) Begin.

Claude is also survived by sons: Tim (Lane) Begin, Marietta, GA; Chris (Mara) Begin, Gordon, OH; and Andrew (Diana) Begin, Columbia, TN. Daughters: Nicole (Andrew)Troy, of Troy, OH; Meredith (Tracy) Owens, Brookville, OH; and Kathy (Todd) Griffieth, Piqua, OH. Grandchildren: Amanda and Lucas Peclat-Begin; Daegon, Caelum, Declan, Emryn, Elijah, Josiah and Annelise Begin; Samantha, Megan, and Alaina Troy; Kyri and Trevor Griffieth; Jonathan Owens. Brothers: Jacques Begin, FL, Gary (Cynthia) Begin, WA. Sister: Judy (Anthony) Capone, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Peter Begin, sister-in-law Lynn Begin, and grandson Jakob Troy.

Claude proudly served eight years in the United States Air Force, and after his military service, he was employed by Raytheon (Wright-Patterson AFB) until his retirement. Claude was an active member of the Gordon United Methodist Church and the Gordon UMC Men's Group. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and serving at his church.
