Cindy Kay (Weeks) Leffel age 64, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Ohio Masonic Home surrounded by her loving family. Born June 21, 1954, in Troy, Ohio, Cindy was a 1972 graduate of Miami East High School.
Cindy married Steven D. Leffel on November 17, 1979, and he survives. Cindy is also survived by daughter Jennifer (Michael) Zapadka (Casstown), son Chris (Angie) Kirk (Hilliard) and daughter Kathryn Leffel (Columbus), grandchildren Alex & Sam Zapadka, Jacqueline & Marshall Kirk, sister and brother-in-law Sue & Greg Ridge (Crossville, TN), father-in-law Robert Leffel (Troy) brother-in-law Michael Leffel (Kettering), her aunt Peg Delmar (Auburn, Al) and cousin Debbie (Bruce) Dupree (Auburn, AL) along with nephews and nieces. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents James & Barbara Weeks, and mother-in-law Evelyn Leffel.
Cindy's primary love was her family. Cindy was known as "Nana" to her grandchildren who brought her so much joy. She was a devoted friend to all those that knew her from her Card Club girlfriends to her co-workers from Cardiology Care and neighborhood friends. Cindy enjoyed cooking, playing cards, fishing, and traveling. She had a special gift for decorating her home for the holidays and hosting many family gatherings gifting her family with many special memories. Cindy exemplified kindness, love and compassion.
Funeral services provided by Baird Funeral home. A visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church, 110 W. Franklin St., Troy on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 10am-1pm followed by a memorial service. Interment to be held at Riverside Cemetery following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: OSU Medical Center, Parkinson's Disease Research Fund with #303457, in Memory of Cindy Leffel on the memo line and mailed to The Office of Medical Center Development, P.O. Box 183112, 660 Ackerman Road, Columbus, Ohio 43218.
