Christina Marie Maxa, age 33, formerly of Troy, OH, passed away on Friday, May 27th, in Greensboro, NC. She was born April 22nd, 1978 in Toledo, OH. Beloved mother, daughter, sister and aunt, Christina spent her childhood in Troy, OH. She attended Miami Valley School where she nurtured her talents playing Varsity tennis and writing for the literary magazine. Through her lifetime, Christina developed a passion for the arts, travel and a special talent for bringing a smile to the faces of those around her. Upon the birth of her son, she became a devoted and loving mother. He was her reason for living. She will forever be remembered as a free, joyful and loving spirit. Christina is survived by her son, Evan Frank Gross; her parents, John Gregory Maxa and Laura Downey Maxa; her sister, Jennifer Maxa Marlier, brother-in-law, Michael Francis Marlier, and nephew, Jack; her brother, John Downey Maxa, and nephew, Timothy; and grandfather, Jay Roscoe Downey. Services will be held 11:30AM Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, 110 West Franklin Street, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Dave Leckrone officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. The family will receive friends from 4:30-7:30PM Tuesday at the Baird Funeral Home, 555 North Market Street, Troy, Ohio.
