Chloda I. Francis Chloda I. Francis, age 70, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 5:00AM on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Troy Care and Rehabilitation Center, Troy. She was born on April 19, 1938 in Beech Hill, West Virginia to the late Burness V. and Goldie Hayes Welker. Her husband, William E. Francis, preceded her in death on June 6, 2002. She is survived by one daughter, Joni Werth of Dawsonville, Georgia; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Randall Allen Francis of Troy and Scott Ray and Gina Francis of Springfield, Ohio; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold and Carol Welker of Troy, Guy and Phyllis Welker of Troy and Richard and Judy Welker of Ludlow Falls, Ohio; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Hilda and Stanley Lawrence of Port Orchard, Washington and Linda and Frank Edmisten of Troy; sisters-in-law: Phyllis Welker of Troy and Shirley Tom Hynes of Troy; three grandchildren: Jenny, Lindsay and Nicholas; tree great-grandchildren: Arik, Ethan and Alyssa; and dear friend, Phil Carey of Piqua, Ohio. Mrs. Francis was also survived by her favorite cat, Patches. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Larry Welker. She was a 1956 graduate of Miami Central High School and a graduate of JVS School of Nursing. She loved gardening, bird watching and flea markets and enjoyed visiting with neighbors. Mrs. Francis was an LPN at Stouder Memorial Hospital for 14 years before moving to private nursing care. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, March 23, 2009 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev. Ed Ellis officiating. Interment will take place at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio.
