Chester B. Newman, 74, died at his residence in Troy, Ohio on December 1, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Anderson Newman; son and daughter -in-law, Russ L. and Linda Newman; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Greg Hale; Judi Newman and Doug Lamka;and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Charles and Josephine Crabtree Newman; six sisters and five brothers. Mr. Newman was a member of the Troy Eagles. He retired in 1988 from City of Troy as Heavy Equipment Operator after 30 years of service. He worked at TEAM Marketing for ten years. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 4 from 5-8PM at Baird Funeral Home with a service at 10:30 Thursday, December 5 at the funeral home with Rev. Ed Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Honeycreek Cemetery, Christiansburg, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County or American Cancer Society.
