Chester E. Davis Chester E. Davis, 86 of Casstown, Ohio, died Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 1:55AM at the Piqua Manor, Piqua, Ohio. He was born October 6, 1921 in Troy, Ohio, to the late Alva and Bertha Rudisill Davis. His wife, Rowena Schisler Davis, preceded him in death in 1999. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Mark and Margie Davis and Jack and Rita Davis all of Casstown, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law: Ann and Mark Grecu of Indianapolis, Indiana and Susan and Mike Crabill of Xenia, Ohio; one sister, Margaret Batdorf of Troy; and seven grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by two brothers: George and infant brother, Claude; four sisters: Rosella, Mabel and Mary Davis and Myrtle Brown; and one granddaughter, Megan Davis. He was a lifelong resident of Miami County, served in the Army Air Corp and was a member of the Ohio Auctioneer Association. Early in his life, he was involved in the plastering and plumbing trades. He worked at Hobart Corp. for 26 years and was a Real Estate broker, insurance agent for over 40 years, and an auctioneer for 50 years. He was actively involved in farming throughout his entire life. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, June 9, 2008 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev. Roger Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio.
