Chester Collett, age 94, formerly of Troy and more recently of Memphis, IN passed away on October 28, 2021. He was born on May 7, 1927 in London, KY to the late Chester and Stella (Nicholson) Collett.
Chester is survived by his sons: Gary Collett, Sr. of Memphis, IN and Randy Collett of Daytona Beach, FL; daughter: Debbie (Bob) VanHorn of Morning View, KY; sister: Crystal Woolrich of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren: Amanda, Gary, Jr., Jessica, Jason and Michael; fourteen great grandchildren: Whitney, Jared, Gary Thomas, Olivia, Braxton, Ryland, Maddie, Taylor, Ryan, Reagan, Tyler, Stephanie, Brianna and Jimmy and two great great grandchildren: Olivia and Waylon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Augusta Collett; brothers: Hobert, J.B., Dee and Joe Collett; sisters: Cleo Woolrich, Frances Anthony, Edna Moyer and Bert Carr.
Chester served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Troy Baptist Temple and the VFW Post 5436. Chester was a retired truck driver and enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Services will be held at 12:00PM on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH with Pastor David Thomasson officiating. Interment will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00AM – 12:00PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
