Obituary

Charles J. Vanchure Charles J. Vanchure, 84, of Troy, died Thursday, March 15, 2007 after a lengthy illness. He was born February 6, 1923 in Avella, PA to the late Charles and Mary Mildred Carroll Vanchure. He was married to Bertha Elizabeth Vickers Vanchure for 65 years. He is survived by his wife; sons and daughters-in-law: Charles and Dixie Vanchure of Troy and Thomas and Sharon Vanchure of Troy; daughters and son-in-law: Pamela and Larry Partin of Troy and Brenda Vanchure and companion Dave Clegg of Troy; Brother and sister-in-law: Robert and Helen Vanchure of Troy; sisters: Mary Lou Munski of Martins Ferry, OH and Noreen Jones of Chicago, IL; ten grandchildren: Charles G. Vanchure, Jr., Charlene McAdams, Charlotte DeBoard, Carlon Vanchure, Penny Vanchure, Tom S. Vanchure, Tony Vanchure, Tammy Vanchure, and Scot and Chad Partin; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Tom and Jim Vanchure; sisters: Janene Davis and Darlene Taylor; granddaughter Brook Vanchure; and daughter Sandra Marie in infancy. Mr. Vanchure resided in Troy since 1950. He loved raising roses and going to garage sales. He was a US Army Private from 1943-1945, serving in WWII. He also retired from Brown Bridge Mill after 20 years of service. Services will be at 1:00PM Monday, March 19, 2007 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Dale Christian officiating. Burial will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, OH. Friends may call from 2-4PM Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
