Charles D. Lovejoy, age 86, of Troy, Ohio went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 3, 2014 at his residence after a short illness.  He was born on October 23, 1927 in St. Albans, West Virginia to the late Jessie Lovejoy and Bessie (Adkins) Lovejoy.  He was married to Lorene E. (Goodall) Lovejoy of 63 years whom preceded him in death on November 12, 2011.

Charles is survived by his b rother and sister-in-law: Luther and Drema Lovejoy of Middleport, Ohio; sisters: Violet Cantrell and Ruth Plantz both of Troy, Ohio; also his adopted niece, Sheila Bair of Troy; granddaughter, Noel  Bair and fiancé Todd Morris of Troy; special nieces Mary Lovejoy of Dayton and Sis Hall of West Virginia; special nephew Jerry Mullins who he loved very much and many nieces and nephews  and friends. He loved his special friend, his beautiful white cat "Sweetie".

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister.

Charles was retired from General Telephone after 23 years of service. He worked at Riverside Cemetery, Troy and "Park & Go" in Vandalia until March 2011.

Charles enjoyed taking care of his house and yard. Loved going to K's Hamburger Shop for breakfast.

Services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday May 8, 2014 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Dwight Stump and Rev. Ray Horton officiating.  Interment will follow in the Riv erside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home on Thursday.  Interment will in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Troy Freewill Baptist Church Children's Fund  2482 S. Co. Rd. 25A Troy, Ohio 45373.
