Charles W. Jones, 88, of Troy, passed out of this life on Sunday, October 19, 2003 at the Covington Care Center in Covington, Ohio. He was born in Piqua, Ohio on December 8, 1914 to the late Charley Edward & Ida Mae McDaniel Jones. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Mina A. Jones in 1995. Also preceeding him in deaht, was 2 sisters, Clara Fay and Thelma Mae. Mr. Jones is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: James & Robin Jones of Troy, Ohio. Also one brother, Richard E. Boak of Troy. Mr. Jones has three grandchildren: Dawn Barr and husband Jessie of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Eric Jones of Daytona, Fla., and Jason Anderson of Columbus, Ohio. Two great-grandchildren, Damian Barr and Charles R. Jones. Mr. Jones served in the Army during WWII, was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Troy; VFW in Troy; Amvets of Troy; American Legion of Tipp City; and Eagles Lodge of Piqua, Ohio. Mr. Jones retired in 1975 after 26 years of service from GM as a machine operator. The Rev. Carol Bastin will be officiating. There will be special VFW Honor Guard services held at the cemetery.
