Charles C. Hobart Jr., 73, of Troy, Ohio died on Sunday, April 16, 2006 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. He was born on September 11, 1932 in Troy, Ohio to the late Charles C. and Rachel Elizabeth Russell Hobart. He married Carolyn Bucholtz and she survives his wife of 50 years. Also survived by son & daughter-in-law; Martin & Tiresa Hobart of Troy, OH; daughter & son-in-law; Frances Ellen & Deron Brown of Troy, OH; brothers & sister-in-law; Edward J. & Marilyn Hobart of Troy, OH; Jon Hobart of Casstown, OH; sister, Elizabeth B. Hobart of Troy, OH; and two grandsons, Chase and Cooper Brown. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edmund Hobart and sister-in-law; Janet Hobart. He was a long-time member of The First Presbyterian Church, Troy, OH; Troy Kiwanis Club; Treasurer of The Museum of Troy History; and The Troy Country Club. Charles especially enjoyed traveling and the outdoors including hiking, tennis and golf. He was a 1950 graduate of Troy High School, in 1954; he received a B.A. from Denison University, Granville, Ohio. He retired in 1996 as President and was current Chairman of the Board of Hobart Cabinet Company, Troy, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2006 @ 10:00AM at The First Presbyterian Church, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Dr. Richard Culp officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio. Friends may call on the family, Wednesday, April 19, 2006 from 4-8pm at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. Contributions may be made to Capital Building Fund at The First Presbyterian Church or Class of 1950 Scholarship Fund, C/O The Troy Foundation.
