Charles Howard "Howdy" Hirsch, age 79, of Troy, Ohio died Saturday, August 19, 2006 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. Born of the late Charles Lester and Anna Eulalia Ford Hirsch, he was married to Sarah N. "Sally" Eyler Knife Hirsch who survives him. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Beth Greg Peters, Rick Cathy Knife, and Don Syble Knife; brother and sister-in-law, James Lowell Ada Jean Hirsch, sister, Marilyn McAfee, nieces, Judy Albert Gross, Lori Kevin Pyers, and nephew, Phillip Linda Deeter, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins, nine step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty E. Deeter. A member of the Troy Church of the Nazarene and the Moose Lodge #2611, he loved all sports and enjoyed golfing and bowling. A 1945 graduate of Lostcreek school and retired from PMI Food Equipment Group Hobart Manufacturing after 34 years of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, Troy Church of the Nazarene, or donor's choice of charity.
