Charles J. "Charlie" Doyle, 57, of Troy, OH, passed away suddenly at 7:25AM Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Upper Valley Medical Center, ER, Troy. He was born June 29, 1949 in White Plains, NY to the late Charles J. and Marie Brosnan Doyle. His wife of 34 years, Rebecca "Becky" McGee Doyle, survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Ann E. Doyle of Halifax, Nova Scotia; one son, Charles J. Doyle III and fiance, Jana Evanson of Missoula, MO; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Elizabeth and Vincent DeLuca of Bedford, VA and Mary and Robert Milo of Bedford, NY; niece, Janice Gregerick; nephew, Paul DeLuca; and mother-in-law, Betty McGee. He was preceded in death by his parents. Charlie received his B.A. from Marietta College. He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Troy; he was a member of the Miami County and Troy Planning Commissions and of the Troy Rotary where he served as secretary for over 25 years. He was on the Troy City Zoning Board of Appeals and he was a trustee and coach of the Greater Dayton Rowing Association. Charlie was also a US Army Vietnam Veteran, receiving the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Charlie was the owner of the McGee-Doyle Insurance Agency. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, June 25, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church of Troy with Dr. Richard Culp officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Troy at the family's convenience. Friends may call from 4-7PM Sunday at the funeral home and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday. Lunch will be served at the church following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund and the Dayton Rowing Foundation.
