Charles L. Brown, Sr. Charles L. Brown, Sr., age 68, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 6:11PM on Monday, February 16, 2009 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born on February 18, 1940 in Wengerlawn, Ohio to the late John and Ethel Minnich Brown. His wife of 50 years, Margaret Macy Brown, survives. Also surviving are his son and daughter-in-law: Charles L. Brown Jr. and wife, Teresa of Troy; two brothers: Dale Brown of Richmond, Indiana and Albert "Hen" Brown of Lewisburg, Ohio; six sisters: Mrs. Vera Brunk of Arcanum, Ohio, Mrs. Mary Sowers of Piqua, Ohio, Mrs. Evelyn Steele of New Paris, Ohio, Mrs. Helen Wogoman of Arcanum, Ohio, Mrs. Edna Sowers of Arcanum, Ohio, Mrs. Orville Virginia Reed of Englewood, Ohio; sister-in-law, Mrs. Lois Brown of West Carrollton, Ohio; two granddaughters: Chrissy and Ryan Shafer of Troy and Amy Brown of Troy; and one great-granddaughter, Brooke Shafer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Mr. Brown was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy. He retired from GM after 30 years of service as a maintenance painter. Services will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. Fr. Gene Vonderhaar officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Friends may call from 4-8PM Friday at the funeral home.
